1st grade Picasso inspired roosters

Picasso Inspired Roosters

I found this great idea from the website of Deep Space Sparkle. You can find the original post here https://www.deepspacesparkle.com/picassos-la-coq-pastel-project/
This is a great lesson for a sub.
The art project is based on Picasso's Rooster.
This image is from the Pablo Picasso website https://www.pablopicasso.org/the-roaster.jsp
I have tons of children's books on Picasso in are classroom library.
I started off the lesson explaining cubism to the children and showing  frontal and profile pictures of people and of course roosters.
Students drew a rooster on 9" x 12" black construction paper, divided it into sections and added patterns with oil pastels.

Fun and easy lesson!
