1st grade Picasso Drawing Game
I found this great game on the blog post by The Artsy Fartsy Art Room.
You can find it here https://www.bloglovin.com/blogs/artsy-fartsy-art-room-11101765/roll-a-picasso-3926821297
I combined this idea and the idea from the Expressive Monkey blog post. You can find the post here http://expressivemonkey.blogspot.com/2017/07/picasso-face-demonstration.html?utm_medium=social&utm_source=pinterest&utm_campaign=tailwind_tribes&utm_content=tribes&utm_term=389842422_12729464_187748
You can buy her game board on teachers pay teachers.
We have talked a lot about Picasso so I just reviewed his various styles of paintings, especially his cubist portraits. These are all the books I have in our classroom library!
Students took turns rolling the dice (I always have them roll it in a basket so it doesn't get lost) and drawing the various facial features that were stated on the game board. Each time they rolled the dice they were to pick a different color of marker to draw the feature.
Lastly they used rubbing plates to create various textures to their art.
This is a perfect game for the end of the year or for a sub.
Thanks to the Artsy Fartsy Art Room and Expressive Monkey blog posts for this great idea!
